Bosun Workshops

The Bosun Workshops are highly interactive and participant centered sessions. These workshops are delivered with a comprehensive model building methodology that is defined by the three Dynamic areas: Communication, Energy, and Organization.

Communications Workshops:

In communications we work toward the discovery of theories, development of methods, and application of concrete solutions for continuous improvement in the art and science of natural human interaction.

Influence Clarity: This workshop explores the Bosun model for clarity in interpersonal communications with an in-depth examination of the work of Dr. Carl Rogers on the techniques for getting people to reveal and uncover what they really mean by what they say.

Master Emotional Content: These sessions will help you develop a model for gaining and maintaining a truly assertive, problem-solving attitude which cuts through the emotional content and gamesmanship tactics of normal conversation and listening/talking interactions.

Recognize the language beyond words. In these sessions you will acquire the tools and techniques for interpreting and exercising the language of actions: the myriad visual, tonal and tangible cues of communication that speak volumes about peoples preferences in learning styles, mental processing and decision making.

The CURE: Be the doctor of communications with this guidance tool that will always keep you on course and at the helm of every business solutions discussion. In these workshops you'll discover how to get satisfaction out of every selling, negotiating, or interviewing situation by utilizing our four basic elements of focus.

Energy Workshops:

Websters' says motivation is the act of being motivated. Fair enough. We say it's also the result of the application of energy. So, we work with our clients on strengthening the dynamics of attitude and action towards good energy...that consistently high performance kind of positive energy.

The Thousand-Mile Journey Really Does Begin with One Step. Mission statements are great and we constantly seek to catalog and renew our goals and objectives. But these tools are only worthwhile if you are willing and able to take that first next step toward achieving what you have defined. In these sessions we seek to develop a connection with the ancient Toaist principle of simplicity in action.

Tough going
When The Going Gets Tough... How often do we hear or say things like "I'm a patient person, but...I can only take my loyalty so far...I'm willing to go the extra mile, but...I'm as tough as the next person, but...I really do want to do the right thing, but..." Well, the BUT is generally the problem. This workshop explores the boundaries of our internal energy and our triggers for rising to the occasion one step beyond that last "but."

Zoning In: You are probably familiar with the zone diet, the zen meditation zone, or the athlete's zone; but how about the business person's zone? Maybe you've been there from time to time - when the breaks seem to go your way, the opportunities fall in your lap, the negotiation seemed like a "lay down". These sessions help you define, design, and find your zone so you know how and what it takes to get back in there.

Organization Workshops:

A famous coach once said Winning is a Habit ...and so is good organization. We'll work with you on gaining an addiction to the organic principles of being organized.

Timeology: There is a steady buzz about time management and prioritizing objectives, but lasting change for those of us who don’t have the detail/scheduler gene is tough. You can’t manage time (there are indeed only 24 hours in a day) and in business everything is a priority. In this workshop, we concentrate on your development of an individual science of good timing.

It IS all About The Numbers: Why do most people simply pay lip service to this idea? Probably because we never really liked math, or we’re convinced that our uniquely hectic, busy, and successful lives are built on making good "gut" decisions. You will be amazed at how simple and efficient it can be to give yourself another competitive edge: your ability to actually work the numbers to measure, analyze and strategize. You can math model almost anything.
Working with numbers

Maybe you can’t always get what you want, but you definitely won’t if you don’t try: It is incredible how often we disqualify and give up on things without making that last ditch effort. We’re somehow convinced it won’t work so..."why bother. I’ve got better things to do!" Do you ever get the feeling you might be missing out on some opportunities? This workshop explores the ways in which you can make yourself available - from a time and energy standpoint – to consistently "go ahead and bother."

Flexibly Rigid!: How many of you get fed up with the seemingly rigid style required for planning? Probably almost as many of you are so flexible you are like rubber - bouncing from one crisis to another. Often people structure their lives in these patterns because they actually like it that way - or they could never see a clear path to the marriage of the concepts of adaptability and prescription. Develop the elements of lasting change in your skills for activity management. These sessions help you develop the elements of lasting change in your skills for activity management. Reach your objectives by forgetting that priority list and actually doing everything on it.
